The hugely successful Castro Valley Marketplace grew out of a dynamic public-private partnership between the County’s former Redevelopment Agency, the project developer and investors. The County’s investment in shared parking and streetscape jump-started the developer’s major investment that turned a vacant building into a new and exciting food, retail and restaurant hub. With over $40 million combined invested in this catalyst project, the Castro Valley Marketplace exemplifies the transformative power of community-driven vision and leadership.
What we did.
We produced a video, short form documentary for Alameda County’s Community Development Agency / Economic Civic Development Department to showcase the success of a public / private partnership in benefit of all, most importantly, the community within. This helped expose what public / private partnerships can do in a community and influence other agencies, counties and cities. We also designed and printed presentation boards for the grand opening of the project.
